Dvd version of the new movie 'Who Killed Nancy?' - the documentary produced & directed by Sid Vicious/Sex Pistols biographer Alan.G Parker, which sets out to present new evidence surrounding the Nancy Spungen murder case in the New York Chelsea Hotel October 12th 1978, as told through interviews with all the key players & personalities involved in the tragic couple's life throughout 1978. The film traces the timeline from the early 70's showing Nancy's early childhood home in Philadelphia, her involvement with the bands of the New York developing Punk scene through the mid 70's, to coming over to England & meeting Sid. An often humorous tale, & a fascinating look into the life that led the pair towards the ultimate tragedy in 1978.
Sid has long been believed to be the prime suspect in the murder case, but witnesses who were in & out of room 100 on that fateful night knew better, yet the NYPD had no interest in gathering statements or investigating any further once Sid Vicious died of a drug overdose less than four months later. This film interviews those people, like guitarist Steve Dior - Sid & Nancy's friend, Neon Leon - Chelsea hotel resident bit-part actor & musician, and the scene of crime Police, revealing some damning evidence to point the finger of blame elsewhere other than at the easy prime suspect. There's also contributution from Glen Matlock, Ed Tudor-Ple & Don Letts amongst many others. Sex Pistols road manager John Tiberi is another welcome contributor, but one interviewee stands out above all others - Keith Levene, a childhood friend of Sid, who was in the first incarnation of The Clash and in the classic line-up of Public Image Ltd (PiL) before leaving in 1983.
This dvd includes plenty of bonus footage not seen on the big screen:-
- Bonus Stories & more in-depth interviews with cast & crew
- Alan G Parker's story, & his promise to Sid's mother that one day the truth would be uncovered
- The recording of the films soundtrack 'Fast Track' to Hell' by Neon Leon
- Footage from the opening night book launch for 'No One is Innocent' at the Proud Gallery, London
- Some further outtakes & interviews cut from the film due to time restrictions.
